Today was never going to be easy. A lot of conflicting demands on my time and long distances to cover as usual.

So I got up very early and set off to my 1st of 2 destinations. All was going quite well and I was rigidly sticking to my agenda and timetable and not allowing myself to be led off on any tangents! At 10:00am - I thought "yes I can do it all today"

At 10:10am that all changed :( My phone goes and it turns out that one of sites has been evacuated following them hitting a large gas main. All hell breaks loose and phonecalls are made and taken in rapid succession. The rest of my days is cancelled and I set off for the site to investigate the incident.

It was almost 1pm when I got there and I got straight down to business - no pleasantries because I was feeling very stressed about all the things that would now not get done pre-audit.

When I finally left there I noticed that I was now very low on fuel and with more travelling tomorrow, I was forced to join the endless queue at the supermarket petrol station to top up.

As I left there the phone went again - it was the first site I had visited this morning "there has been an accident" - a man who has broken some bones - another call to the Regional Director - poor man - he had only just back to the office following his meeting with me at the gas incident site.

If this is the first day of the week and the Auditors arrive tomorrow and this carries on I think I will have a nervous breakdown........
