Looks as if soemone has turned a high pressure fire hose on the area
Shuts door and goes back in
7 or 8 minutes later...
The rain is now only torrential 
Loads stuff into boot
Return to house to set alarm
Re-emerge and FLASH massive electric blue sheet lightning 
Leaps into car
Before I get to the end of the street I have to stop
and marvel
at the size and velocity of those hailstones
Hailstones - mmmm - maybe hailrocks would be a better description

Might even push the boat out and open a bottle of good red. Come to think of it, I might have been better off in the boat this morning!

I saw on the forecast that the weather in Wales would be atrocious.
It's wet and a bit windy here (from what I have seen from my window, I haven't been out ) but it's nothing in comparison to your weather.

I saw the tornado report on the news!! We had one last week in Aberystwyth - apparently the same magnitude!

Pro Yes he is ok thanks. I heard about the one in Aber, in fact it is where my Aunt's mother lives so it took a while to find out that her house was ok. It is quite high up in Bow Street, and wasn't touched fortunately whilst my friend further down had structural damage.
Yes my posting is playing up, I post but it doesn't appear at times!

Hailstones. Well, nothing surprises me about the weather in Wales. Or Ireland or Scotland, for that matter. Or Manchester. Or even England. I remember once cycling home in a hail storm and just couldn't. It was beating into my face and so ferocious.

I remember being out a bicycle as a kid and my legs stinging from the hailstones. Those were in the days when girlies wore skirts
