Busy Saturday

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-30 - 14:34:03

Up early (8:20am) which is great for a Saturday ;D
Boiled the obligatory 2 organic eggs for brekkie and had 2 cups of tea - bliss :)

Cleaned house up and downstairs, bathroom taps all shiny, all dust removed, kitchen worktops and tiles all lovely

Went to town and got some half price bargains in Wilkinsons (saw leaflet in the free papaer last night), managed to park right outside the door which was nice because it was raining.

From there I headed to the gym and arrived at 10:15am. Worked out for an hour which included trying 2 new machines for hips and thighs 88|

Home then. Nice shower and hair wash - bliss :DD

Came downstairs put the washing on for a full load and popped the keetle on for a well deserved cuppa. Phone rang it was my parents - I thought they must be SOuthampton as their crusie ship was due in a bit earlier. No they were just 20 minutes away could they come for coffee.
Felt most pleased that I had cleaned house to good standard ;)
Gave my hair a quick towelling and tied it back.
Put on some fresh coffee and made some sandwiches and they arrived right on cue.
They were only here for half an hour as they still have 2 hours driving to do but it was nice to see them.
Soon as they went I pegged out the washing and returned to wash up. No sooner than I finished the washing up the sun went in and it started to rain - rushed out the garden and retrieved the whole line full of clothes:##
Now have tumble drier on running the electric bill to the roof no doubt :`(
Finally dried my hair and decided to have a look at the blogs! Will have to get the straighteners out later though 'cos I look rather frizzy at the moment! Later there will ironing too
A women's work is never done 88|

Nasty Letter Saga - THE END!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-29 - 19:59:42

The Police have cautioned the mad bitch :)

She is not to call to my house, or write to me.

If she does it is off to court!

Apparently there was another letter (at her house) addressed to me!

She was told to destroy it.

Well that is such a weight off my mind.

Thursday and ANOTHER LETTER grrrrrrrrr

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-28 - 18:08:04

Got home today to find that mad bitch had delivered a letter to my house by hand.

Furious I rang the ex "what the f**k did you tell her on the phone last night?" :??:

"I told her I don't live there blah blah...."

Told him I have had another letter and we had a blazing screaming match with him saying "It's not my problem" ??????? :??:
I put the phone down on him.

I contacted the police gave them a synopsis and told them that if she turns up here I am ringing 999 as I am terrified ;)
They gave me a crime number. So let her come here now.
First she will be arrested (I have highlighted all the threatening passages in all the letters)

Just before they drag her off I will give her his girlfriend's address

Enough is enough :##

Today - another "letter" from the nutter

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-27 - 21:56:47

Today I went to Gloucestershire and very nice it was too! Warm and sunny this morning with quite a bit of blue sky. I was just on the edge of the Cotswolds a really idyllic spot and doubtlessly hideously expensive.
Came back over the Severn Bridge and it was dark and threatening rain, had to get home early for Dentist appointment. Went home and brushed teeth furiously for AGES! Saw I had a "recorded delivery" parcel to collect from the post office so set off a bit early to collect it prior to the dentists. My parcel was a brand new still shrink-wrapped 5 DVD set which retails for £49.99 and I got it for £23.50 inc postage off Ebay! So that was a great result.:DD
Got to Dentist early and he saw me straight away - I should explain here that he did stand me up on my original appointment last Friday - I was there but he was not! 88|
From there I sneaked off to the gym - well it isn't as if I had taken a lunch break so I was not going to feel guilty. Had a reasonable workout and then just as I left the heavens opened and for the first time (Sod's Law) I wasn't parked in the car park because it was full when I arrived and I had to park about 400yds away. So I came out of the gym and headed in a rush for my car - bearing in mind this is on the waterfront and it is hammering with rain and blowing a gale - I was soaked :##
Got home and invited my neighbour across for a coffee, whilst waiting for him I opened the post 88|

ANOTHER LETTER FROM THAT BLOODY WOMAN

This is typed in a "crazy" font in red and just says on an A4 sheet

"Ready or Not I'm Coming Soon! "

Showed it to my neighbour and he said I should take all the letters and this latest commuication to the Police. Rang my ex and told him he had better sort her out today because the first time she sets foot on my drive I will dial 999 and then assualt her saying it was self defense - neighbour will be a witness. Once the law have seen the letters she won't have a leg to stand on :##
Hopefully ex has done what I have asked as my patience with this CRAP has now run out

Time for bed

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-24 - 23:32:37

Just been down the drive to put the rubbish out. It is still warm and the sky is clear, pinpricked with twinkly stars and in the wood I heard an owl screech.
I shall go up in a few minutes and I shall leave the bedroom window ajar so that I can hear the owl calling as I fall asleep....

Nite all

Woman wins the lottery LOL!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-24 - 19:11:40

A woman came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and
ran into the house.
She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs,
"Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!"
The husband said, "Oh my God! Fantastic!! What should I pack, beach
stuff or mountain stuff?"

Feeling Fruity!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-24 - 17:53:18

Just been across to the gay one's place for coffee. Have returned home with 2 kiwi fruit, a pineapple and a lecture on how good beetroot is for wrinkles!

I would not be without him - he is unique :)

Sunny Sunday

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-24 - 12:41:12

Actually it was raining when I got up but that is now a distant memory.

Did some housework 88| Did the ironing and then spent ages washing, drying and straightening all this long red hair - my arms were dropping off :**:

Then boiled my 2 eggs and sat down to hear the Archers Omnibus :D

Funnily enough my parents are currently on a cruise and to their surprise there is an Archers theme to it! They haven't listened for years and so are totally confused by the characters - still today mumi spoing with some of them and having her piccy taken and has promised to get some autographs. :DD

Went to Tescos because I was down to my last 2 organic eggs for my new breakfast regime, what an awful place it is but less busy than Morrissons which is why to chose to go there.

I have hung all my towels out in the sunny garden and may get my finger out and do a bit of Spanish revision before my class starts on Tuesday night ;)

The film Angel -A

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-23 - 21:07:12

Well I got to the cinema in good time. It is a small cinema ( 1 of 2 screens) in an Arts Centre. I knew I was in good time when they told me the projectionist hadn't yet arrived (with 10 minutes to go!)88|
Anyway I really enjoyed the film which turned out to be in French - c'est la vie and all that! I recommend it to anyone who needs a laugh and has 90 minutes to spare.
Just came in a while back and stuffed myself with lots of salad and some more smoked salmon - yum yum :p

My Saturday so far :)

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-23 - 16:50:37

Went for a walk around the town in brilliant sunshine, lots of people out and about. Picked up 2 non-fiction books from the charity shops so quite pleased about that. :)
Came back and decided I had better cut the lawns - not too many more cuts to do now I suspect unless we have an Indian Summer.B)
Had coffee with the gay neighbour and caught up on all his gossip! Mainly about new purchases - went on in great detail about his new blender/juicer. Whilst there his mother turned up with 10 pineapples for him! :p
Got changed and headed off to the gym and had a reasonably good session there :DD
Back for a steaming hot shower and then sat in the garden with a cup of tea basking in the sun B)
Have half an hour now before I am off out again to see a film - the new Luc Besson - Angel-A. Once again it is a Spanish language film -I hope all this helps when I start year 2 Spanish next week ;)

Finally slept - hurrah

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-23 - 10:33:18

Only woke up once last night. Slept util 9:30am ah such decadence. The sun is shining and I sat in the kitchen with the back door open eating my 2 boiled egss and wholemeal soliders with a cup of tea.
Later I might pop out and scour the charity shops for books as it has been a few weeks now. Later I will try to talk myself into going to the gym although I have been 3 times this week.
See you all later :)

Hey - Charlie...

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-22 - 23:10:42

A girl could die of thirst here ;)

How did the visit to the "burglar alarm neighbours" go?

Two men in a supermarket LOL!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-22 - 20:24:53

Two blokes are pushing their shopping trolleys around a supermarket when they collide.
>>
>>
The first bloke says to the second bloke, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going".
>>
The second bloke says, "That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate".
The first bloke says, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your wife look like"?
>>
The second bloke says, "Well, she is 27 yrs old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with blonde hair, blue eyes, big jubblies, long legs and is wearing tiny little shorts and a crop top. What does your wife look like"?
>>
The first bloke says, "Doesn't matter, let's look for yours."

Last night was a ditto night

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-22 - 20:03:08

I did not sleep AGAIN :(

Tonight is the last chance I give it befroe I give in and take a sleeping pill. Hate the things - great at making me sleep but always leave me feeling muzzy and slightly hungover. :(

I need somehting to look forward to

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-21 - 22:34:20

I have got my "fed-up" head on this evening. Probably the onset of the darker evenings and the gale force wind raging outside.

I so need something to look forward to. Could do with a good day out or fun-filed evening. These seem to be in short supply at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Didn't sleep too well...

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-21 - 21:31:20

I blame the abstinence from wine. My bed was wrecked this morning and I was glad to get up and go to work. Must have woken up at least 6 or 7 times :zz:
Hope it is better tonight U-(

Losing Weight - less wine :(

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-20 - 22:00:59

Currently losing around 1lb per week in weight. It is such a slow process and I woukldlove to make that 1.5lb per week :**:

Just checked the calories in a bottle of red wine 88|

500 calories!

So if I give up red wine on 2 nights a week I will be cutting another 500 calories out of my intake.

1lb = 3500 calories.

So it will take 7 weeks to shed an extra 1lb 88|

Of course I could just not drink at all and lose an extra 1lb per week

Life would be very dull :**:

I can't do more than I am already doing at the gym and I really eat very little - look

Breakfast - Cornflakes
Lunch - 2 bananas and a satsuma
Tea - Small piece of salmon, lettuce, spring onions, cherry tomatoes, 1 spoon of low calories mayonnaise, 1 slice organic brown bread with a smidgen of flora light.

Drink tea throughout the day with a no cal sweetner in place of sugar

I usually consume half a bottle of red throughout the evening which I now see over a week is worth 1lb in weight!

What more can I do?

I do not cheat - no biscuits, sweets, cakes or crisps kept in the house - not a big lover of these anyway.

Any suggestions welcome I must be going wrong somewhere :(

Oy! Molt - we await your post!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-19 - 22:54:14

Don't be reticent - tell it as it is ;)

Another of those letter has arrvied ....

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-19 - 20:15:40

Got in from work earlier and found a large thick envelope on the hall floor. It is another 8 or 10 A4 page letter from my ex's (of 5.5 years) estranged mother. Not read it yet because I know it will bwe another awful catalogue of vitriol.
Phoned him and asked if he was going to call in and take a look - but he is too busy. Cheeky b&stard. He doesn't want her to have his address but it is OK for me to have this crap. Not pleased :(

Almodovar Film CH4 tonight 11:15pm

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-18 - 22:40:35

Almodovar Film tonight CH4 11:15pm in Spanish (English subtitles)

Review

Two parallel stories, two different couples, merging into one at the end. In both cases, the woman goes into a coma and the man visits her in the hospital.

The film opens with pretty Alicia already in a coma as a result of a car accident. One of the two nurses hired to be with her at all times is a young man named Benigno who loves her. He bathes her, talks to her, and makes her pregnant in her coma.

Lydia is a female bullfighter who has just broken up with the man she loved. She meets Marco, a reporter. They have an affair. Then she is gored by a bull and goes into a coma.

Does either girl come out of her coma? Does either girl die? Does Alicia have her baby? Does Benigno get arrested? What happens to these four people?

The Almodovar Collection Vol 1 Includes

"Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown"

Pedro Almodovar broke into the art-house mainstream with this wild, manic comedy about a gaggle of women and their various problems with men, be they married lovers, cheating husbands, fiancés, or terrorists. Almodovar's long-time leading lady, Carmen Maura, stars as an actress (famed for her laundry detergent commercial as the mother of a sloppy serial killer) who's just been dumped by her married lover. In the midst of trying to track him down for a face-to-face confrontation, she crosses paths with her lover's son (Antonio Banderas), his unbalanced wife (Julieta Serrano), and his new girlfriend (Kiti Manver). Adding more fuel to the fire is the hapless friend (Maria Barranco) who got involved with a Shiite terrorist and is now being hunted by the police. Almodovar, a master of farcical screwball comedy, manages to keep all these balls in the air in dizzy, hilarious style without once losing his momentum. Chock full of the director's over-the-top stylization, in terms of both story and sets, the film is a hilarious yet heartfelt marriage of kitsch and drama, verging on parody but never going entirely over the top. Maura is absolutely breathtaking as the unhinged lover, dispensing wise advice to others while trying to keep a semblance of sanity, and the supporting cast is quintessential Almodovar, including a brief but memorable turn by Banderas in what could have been a bland, go-nowhere role. Nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 1989

"Dark habits"

Yolanda sings in a seedy nightclub. When her boyfriend dies of an overdose, she fears the police and seeks refuge in a convent that saves women from the streets. These off-beat nuns include a heroin using abbess who loves Yolanda, one who writes romance novels under a pseudonym, another raising a tiger in the convent yard, and one who designs fabulous fashions and is in love with the local priest. They plan an evening extravaganza starring Yolanda to celebrate the abbess's birthday and to convince their wealthy patron not to abandon them.

"Pepi Luci Bom"

Renowned Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar made his big-screen debut with this zany, provocative film. Carmen Maura stars as Pepi, a crazy Madrid slacker whose friends include Luci (Eva Siva), the masochistic wife of a bullying cop, and 16-year-old Bom (Olvido Gara), the lesbian sadist rocker that Luci leaves her husband for. Lots of crazy vignettes and characters parade by in this melange of outrageousness which includes a bored bearded lady (Kiti Manver), a sex organ measurement contest (presided over by Almodóvar himself), golden showers, drag-queens, drugs, punk rock shows, and a series of commercials for some very special underwear.

Working with an obviously low budget and limited means, Almodóvar still succeeds admirably in both shocking and delighting unsuspecting audiences, especially with the help of the splendidly high-spirited performances from all his actors, particularly Maura in the first of their many collaborations

"What have I done to deserve this"

Pedro Almodóvar scored his first international hit with What Have I Done to Deserve This?, cementing his reputation as Spain's bad-boy director of darkly comedic melodramas. Many of the themes that dominate Almodóvar's later films are evident here, especially his sympathetic affection for downtrodden women like Gloria (Carmen Maura), an exhausted housewife who's addicted to No-Dōz tablets and spends 18-hour days cleaning apartments and tending (just barely) to her teenage sons (one deals drugs, the other offers sex to local perverts), neglectful husband, and looney-tunes mother-in-law--all of whom have a particular knack for getting on her nerves. Toss in a prostitute neighbor, an accidental murder, and a pet lizard named "Money," and you've got the makings of a soap opera by way of Luis Buñuel and John Waters, served up with Almodóvar's distinctive blend of compassionate humanity and kinky outrageousness.

Got My film on Ebay!

by welshceltgirl @ 2006-09-18 - 16:35:05

Hurrah, got the film I wanted on Ebay for a total of £3.70 inc postage :)

Film - Nine Queens (Nueves Reinas)

Fabian Bielinsky's directorial debut is an electrifying crime thriller that deserves to join the ranks as a classic of the genre--along with David Mamet's HOUSE OF GAMES and Bryan Singer's THE USUAL SUSPECTS. Set in a Buenos Aires that is on the verge of economic collapse, the film tells the story of Juan (Gaston Pauls), a con artist with a conscience. Trying to round up enough money to pay off his incarcerated father's debts, Juan stumbles into fellow swindler Marcos (Ricardo Darin), a far more confident, experienced criminal. When Marcos offers Juan the chance to team up for the day, his initial apprehension succumbs to the pressure of helping his father, and he agrees to the partnership. After a few minor cons, the pair unknowingly stumbles into a potentially lucrative score involving a wealthy businessman, Gandolfo, and a forged set of rare stamps, The Nine Queens. As new characters are introduced and the plot becomes more convoluted, it becomes unclear--to the audience, as well as Juan and Marcos--just who is conning wh
